Old Men of the Woods

Ancient laurel trees in Fanal forest on the island of Madeira are stunted by age and harsh conditions. When the clouds blow up over the mountain top and twine through the trees it creates this ethereal effect. To exaggerate the twisted nature of the trees I laid on my back on the ground and shot over my head with a wide angle lens.
